 LESSON 3:  POLYNOMIAL DIVISION

 

The zeros of a polynomial function are easy to find if the function is in factored form.  However if the function is in standard form, we

must be able to write it in factored form in order to find the zeros.  This is done by a theorem which is called the Factor Theorem.  In

order to use the factor theorem, we must first learn how to divide polynomials.

Note:  If the remainder is zero as in example 1 above then the divisor is a factor of the dividend.
